Research
Many companies claim to have multiple studies backing hundreds of anecdotal success stories. When Todd Schneider (founder of Hepatitis Technologies) began his search to find a cure (or effective management system) for Hepatitis C, he challenged every vendor, researcher, and doctor to provide laboratory evidence of their claims of success. Sadly, he found only stories, but no hard evidence to validate these claims. Having seen the difference between the claims and the performance of many alternative therapies, he obtained an appreciation of why the FDA and FTC has attempted to regulate exaggerated and erroneous claims. Because of this lack of convincing laboratory-based evidence, Todd began the necessary process of using his own body to experiment with many different remedies. Todd spent 9 years and many tens of thousands of dollars taking various supplements, doing monthly blood draws to monitor his liver enzymes and viral loads, and doing regular Fibroscans of his liver to monitor its level of fibrosis. His goal was to validate or invalidate these claims of miraculous and total cure made in blogs, web articles, books, magazines, and by marketers and healers. Eventually Todd found the answers to managing his symptoms of HCV and HBV in the research of Pub-Med (see below a small sample of the 190 articles on file) that experimentally validate the efficacy of various nutrients in liver conditions. At the end of the journey, Todd was not able to eradicate his HCV or HBV, but he was able to find an effective management system using alternative therapies.
