What is Polyenylphosphatidylcholine?
Polyenylphosphatidylcholine (PPC) is a critical component of the outer wall of the cell, the cell membrane.
Why do you need Polyenylphosphatidylcholine?
The cell membrane is the border between the cell and its environment. But it is much more than a mechanical barrier - it is where communication, signalling, channelling, pumping, and numerous protein to protein interactions take place. It is really a two dimensional liquid that holds thousands of critical proteins which need to be able to move freely, reacting and changing as they communicate with their environment , the cell interior, and themselves. This requires rapid lateral movement inside the membrane. The cell membrane therefore has to be fluid and not too stiff to function optimally. HeptoShield optimizes membrane fluidity and overall cellular health.
Why take HeptoShield as a source of Polyenylphosphatidylcholine?
Quality PPC preparations are not easy to make correctly. The few products available on the North American market today use alcohol to dissolve the phospholipids. The liver must work harder to detoxify and eliminate the alcohol contained in these preparations, thus adding additional stress to this critical organ. HeptoShield has been formulated without the use of alcohol, and is the most liver friendly product on the market today. It is formulated using ultra-purified soy lecithin, in which everything except the Polyenylphosphatidylcholine fraction has been removed. It is then gently resuspended in a mixture of antioxidants to prevent oxidation (tocopherols) and Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT's) - medium chain fatty acids which typically are not stored as fat but burned instead as a source of energy. A truly unique formulation which is available nowhere else.
What can you expect from taking HeptoShield?
Polyenylphosphatidylcholine has been shown in numerous research papers to arrest, prevent, and often reverse the effects of cirrhosis of the liver, a condition where the organ becomes very stiff from fibrosis. This beneficial effect is not only isolated to the liver, and no doubt applies to every organ and cell of the body.
